Donate blood at EvCC

Everett Community College and the Puget Sound Blood Center have scheduled a blood drive at the college and need donors.

The blood drive is from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday at the college’s Jackson Center.

To make an appointment to donate blood, sign up at Student Activities in Parks Hall, Room 209, or call 425-388-9561.

Walk-in donors also welcome.

Everett Community College is at 2000 Tower St., two blocks west of Broadway.

Citizens academy: The Lynnwood Police Department is accepting applications for the next Citizens Academy.

The free, 12-week class is held every Thursday night starting Jan. 12.

Members learn about topics such as narcotics investigations, use of force and domestic violence.

Volunteer for ESL classes: Our Lady of Perpetual Help church is looking for volunteers to help with classes for English language learners.

Classes are scheduled from 7 to 8 p.m. starting Wednesday. They will continue until May.

Volunteers are needed to teach and to help in the classroom.
