Washington Stealth defenseman Chris McElroy has been named the program instructor for the Stealth’s Sticks-2-Schools program.

McElroy, an eight-year NLL veteran, will lead the non-profit organization, that strives to help childhood obesity by motivating youth to increase their level of physical activity. The program donates lacrosse equipment, curriculum guides and instruction from Stealth players at no cost to the schools.

The program debuted last spring with visits to numerous schools in the Puget Sound region.

“I’m extremely excited to be a part of Sticks-2-Schools,” McElroy said. “It’s important to promote an active and healthy lifestyle to children and by using lacrosse, we are engaging kids in a new and fun activity that they will be excited to learn.”
