Leadership thesis looks at district

Published 1:58 pm Tuesday, November 1, 2011

I am a master’s candidate in leadership management at City University of Seattle. I have chosen the Everett Public Schools Board of Directors to study as part of my thesis. My intention is not to choose sides or address specific conflict, but to apply my leadership skills to develop a proposed plan for the group. I do not live in Everett, nor do I have children in schools there. I am a Snohomish County resident who cares about effective leadership. I am hoping people can answer (briefly is fine) two questions for me:

1. What are your top three goals for students in the Everett School District?

2. What educational goals do you have for the district?

I would like to hear from students, parents or interested citizens who live within the school district boundaries, as well as teachers and other school employees there. I have sent a similar request to all of the current board members, the two current board candidates, and to Superintendent Gary Cohn. You may contact me at cdelbuono2@cityu.edu or visit the Facebook page set up specifically for this project: Everett School Board Leadership Project.
