Boeing to give bonuses of 15 to 16 days pay

Roughly 48,497 Boeing Co. workers in Washington state will receive incentive pay next month based on the company’s 2011 performance.

Boeing workers are eligible for 15 to 16 days of extra pay, depending on their work assignment. Members of Boeing’s Machinists union are not eligible for the bonus.

Boeing spokeswoman Lauren Penning said workers will receive their bonuses around the middle of next month.

The bonus is part of the company’s Employee Incentive Plan.

“In 2011, both our major businesses and our functions performed very well against their annual plans for financial performance, and the strong integrated company score and resulting award payouts for eligible employees reflect those efforts,” Jim McNerney, Boeing’s chief executive said in a message to employees.

Last year, Boeing workers received 14 days pay at an estimated average of $5,000 per person.

In past years, Boeing Machinists had negotiated lump sum payments in their contract with the jet maker. The union and Boeing struck a new agreement last year in which the Machinists will belong to a difference incentive program.
