American Brewing Company celebrates first anniversary

American Brewing Company will celebrate its first anniversary in its Edmonds location, 1-11 p.m. March 3.
The event will feature live music, food, merchandise and beer at the brewery, 180 Dayton St., Edmonds.
Attendees are urged to bring a donation of canned goods for the Edmonds Food Bank.
Brewer Skip Madsen will introduce his new hearty Scotch Ale.
Steve Stefanowicz will perform acoustic rock and blues from, 2-5 p.m., and Third Train Running, an acoustic blues and folk band, will perform from 7 to 10 p.m.
This event is for people 21 and older.
Free flapjacks
International House of Pancakes is celebrating National Pancake Day by offering guests a free stack of buttermilk pancakes on Feb. 28
The chain, including the Lynnwood location at 4300 196th St. SW, is doing this to raise awareness and funds for Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals.
Donations to the charity will be accepted during the event and through www.ihoppancakeday.com.
Taco Time turns 50
Taco Time, which opened in 1962, celebrates its 50th anniversary this month.
Robby Tonkin, president of the group, pledges to continue to offer more products sourced from Northwest suppliers and to purchase local ingredients whenever possible at its 73 locations.
The Mexi-Fries are now made from Washington potatoes with Northwest-based Darigold’s cheddar cheese.
Taco Time is also introducing green initiatives including compostable packaging.
To commemorate the 50th anniversary, Taco Time is offering Sweet Potato Mexi-Fries for $2.99 to $3.99 through March 31.
Thai cooking class
I Love Thai Cooking will be presented March 6 by A Chef’s Kitchen, Edmonds. Pranee Halvorsen will present the hands-on class.
Learn to make Tom Sap Neua, a sweet and spicy cour soup; Som Tum, green papaya salad; and Gai Tod, fried chicken Thai style. Fee is $70.
