Mukilteo’s D3 Technologies was named one of the Boeing Co.’s 16 suppliers of the year.

Boeing honored 14 companies and two academic institutes at an event Wednesday night.

The company said its awards are based on quality, on-time delivery, post-delivery support, and cost and demonstrated ability to anticipate and respond to changing requirements.

“These supplier-partners excelled in delivering results, performance and customer satisfaction in 2011, and they play a key role in enabling Boeing to be a global leader in technology and innovation,” Jim McNerney, Boeing’s CEO said in a statement Thursday.

Boeing annually purchases more than $50 billion in goods and services from a global network of more than 28,000 suppliers that collectively employ more than 1.2 million people.

D3 Technologies was honored in the category of non-production.

“Winning Boeing’s Supplier of the Year award is a great honor and demonstrates that D3 and its employees are in line with the high level of customer satisfaction that Boeing expects and deserves as a most important customer,” Richard Johnson, president of D3 Technologies, said in a statement.
