Longview man gets 14 years for murder

LONGVIEW — A Longview man has been sentenced to 14 years for his second-degree murder plea in the throat-slashing death of a 50-year-old transient in September.
The Daily News of Longview reported that David Allen Holmes, 28, used a large, military-style knife to kill Kevin Thomas Watts, who had been living in a van.
Police said a dispute was involved but it was unclear what the men had been arguing about.
