Man found dead in downtown Yakima

YAKIMA — Authorities are trying to identify a man found dead Tuesday morning in a downtown Yakima parking lot.

Police believe the man was killed in a Monday night disturbance. Investigators aren’t saying how he was killed, except he wasn’t shot.

The Yakima Herald-Republic reported that it’s likely the first homicide of the year in the city.

Police are asking residents for help identifying the man. Capt. Rod Light says he probably lived in the area.
