Teen dies in apparent drive-by shooting in Lake Stevens

The teen killed in an apparent drive-by shooting in Lake Stevens late Saturday night was a ninth-grader at Seattle’s Bishop Blanchet High School where she was an honor roll student.

The student was identified by the school as Molly Conley. Seattle television stations reported she turned 15 on Friday, but Lake Stevens Police provided no age and only reported that a “female” was killed.

No arrests in the fatal shooting had been made as of Sunday night.

In a statement, Antonio DeSapio, school president, called the shooting “a terrible act of random violence.”

Several of her classmates were with her when this happened, DeSapio said.

A special prayer service is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. tonight in Seattle at Our Lady of Fatima Church, 3218 W. Barrett St.

Molly Conley’s brother, John, a 10th-grader, also attends the school.

Counselors, ministry staff, faculty and administrators will be on hand for students when the school, at 8200 Wallingford Ave. N., opens on Monday.

Lake Stevens police say they received a call about a shooting at 11:18 p.m. Saturday near S. Lake Stevens Road and S. Davies Road.

The police department said there were other other possible drive-by shootings reported to emergency dispatchers through the region on Saturday that appear to have resulted only in property damage.

It’s unclear if these events were related to the Lake Stevens shootings, police said.
