LAKE STEVENS — Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives have been canvassing the Lake Stevens neighborhood where a Seattle girl was fatally shot Saturday night while walking with a group of friends.
Detectives have been searching for additional witnesses and other potential information which may shed some light on the incident, sheriff’s bureau chief Kevin Prentiss said Wednesday.
Investigators also are looking for any video surveillance footage in and around Lake Stevens that might help them identify a suspect, he added.
Molly Conley, 15, was shot in the neck during a drive-by shooting. The high school freshman died at the scene near the intersection of S. Lake Stevens Road and S. Davies Road.
Despite some media reports, investigators have not yet identified a suspect vehicle, Prentiss said.
Detectives from the sheriff’s office and Marysville are investigating at least four drive-by shooting reports from late Saturday night and early Sunday morning.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call the sheriff’s office tip line at 425-388-3845.
