Brush fire threatened homes near Finley

FINLEY — More than 100 firefighters with nearly 30 vehicles stopped a 500-acre brush fire that threatened homes at Finley, southeast of Kennewick.

Jeremy Beck of Benton County Emergency Services told the Tri-City Herald the fire threatened 10 to 20 homes Monday afternoon, but no one had to be evacuated.

Fire engines also protected a wheat field and about 100 cows in a field.
