DARRINGTON — Officials have identified a man who died Aug. 31 in a rock-climbing accident near Darrington.
Christopher B. Greyell, of Shoreline, was 58, according to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office.
He died after falling about 50 feet from “Martha’s Place,” a large boulder popular with climbers in the Squire Creek area, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Shari Ireton said Thursday.
“The victim was climbing with several others, and we still don’t have details as to why he fell,” she said.
Other climbers stayed with Greyell until rescue crews arrived.
