MONROE — No serious injuries were reported Tuesday in a three-vehicle collision that closed U.S. 2 in Monroe for about 90 minutes.

The crash happened just before 4 p.m. where the highway crosses Fryelands Boulevard, said trooper Mark Francis with the Washington State Patrol.

An eastbound Honda Prelude was stopped in traffic when it was rear-ended by a Ford F-150, Francis said. The Honda was pushed into oncoming traffic and collided with a westbound Chevrolet Silverado.

The impact flipped over the Chevrolet.

The Ford driver, a Monroe man in his 30s, was cited for going too fast for conditions, Francis said. The Honda driver and a passenger and the Chevrolet driver all went to local hospitals to get checked over.
