Maui police identify Seattle man killed on moped

HONOLULU — Maui police say the victim in a fatal weekend moped crash was a 36-year-old Seattle man.

The Honolulu Star Advertiser reported that Rama Fire in the crash Saturday night.

Police said Fire was driving on Kokomo Road in Haiku and his scooter crossed the centerline.

The moped collided with a sedan driven by a 43-year-old Haiku woman. She and two passengers were using seat belts and were not injured.

The fatality was Maui’s 13th traffic death this year.
