YAKIMA — A Moxee woman who was arrested Monday in the death of her month-old son has been released from jail as officials continue to investigate a possible manslaughter charge.
Court documents indicate the 22-year-old was drinking Sunday night and then slept in the same bed with her baby. Yakima County Coroner Jack Hawkins says the boy died from a lack of oxygen to the brain.
KIMA reported the Department of Corrections also is looking into the case because the mother wasn’t supposed to drink. She was on home supervision for a drunken driving arrest last year.
