Sultan’s seeking applicants for citizens academy

SULTAN — The Sultan Police Department is seeking applicants for the Sky Valley Citizens Academy set to begin Feb. 6.

The free, 13-week class will meet at Sultan Middle School from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Thursdays, with one Saturday field trip.

Participants will learn about day-to-day policing topics, including patrol, traffic investigations, drugs, gangs and domestic violence.

People are asked to reserve their spots.

Applicants must pass a criminal background check.
