MUKILTEO — Kamiak senior KeVaughn Escobar-Umayam allowed just one run on five hits over nine innings to lead Kamiak to the victory over Lynnwood and keep the Knights’ slim hopes alive for a Wesco 4A district playoff berth.
With the bases loaded in the bottom of the ninth, sophomore Dominic Nickerson was hit by a pitch, bringing the game-winning run home and giving the Knights the victory. Senior Jacob Long had three hits to lead the Knights, who must finish a sweep of the Royals to have any shot at a district berth. Kamiak would still have to win its final two games against Mariner and hope for Lynnwood to drop their final two against Jackson.
