Dan Lorentzen named police chief in Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — Dan Lorentzen has been named the Lake Stevens police chief.

Lorentzen, 46, has been serving as acting chief since November 2012.

He joined in the police department as a reserve officer in 1991.

Lorentzen graduated from Lake Stevens High School and also studied at Everett Community College.

The police department has 29 employees and an annual budget of $4.8 million.
