Mukilteo school bus rear-ended, students unhurt

MUKILTEO — A bus full of elementary school students was rear-ended by a utility truck Thursday morning on Mukilteo Boulevard at Ocean Avenue.

About 30 Mukilteo Elementary School students were on board. They were not hurt. They were driven to school on a second bus, Mukilteo School District spokesman Andy Muntz said.

The crash was reported about 8:30 a.m., Everett police spokesman Aaron Snell said. The Washington State Patrol was assisting with the investigation. The cause of the crash was believed to be a mechanical problem.

The roadway was reopened before 10 a.m.
