Cold weather shelter opens in south Snohomish County

EDMONDS — With freezing weather expected, the South Snohomish County Emergency Shelter is opening Sunday night for people without a warm bed.
The shelter is open to individuals and families, and provides dinner and breakfast. It is run by the South Snohomish County Emergency Shelter Network at the Edmonds Senior Center in Edmonds.
Shuttles to the shelter will pick people up at Lynnwood City Hall, 19100 44th Ave. W,, Lynnwood, by 7 p.m., and at the bus stop by Trader Joe’s at Highway 99 and 196th Street SE at 7:05 p.m.
The shelter provides more than 400 bed-nights for more than 50 people in south Snohomish County, and is run entirely by volunteers, according to the network’s website.
