Chimney fire damages Marysville house; 2 escape

MARYSVILLE — Two people escaped harm Sunday morning when a chimney fire caused heavy damage to their house in the 12700 block of State Avenue, Marysville firefighters said.

Crews responded to the large, two-story home around 8:20 a.m. and found a full attic fire, Battalion Chief Scott Goodale said.

Investigators estimated damage at $175,000, Goodale said. The couple who live at the house were staying with relatives.

Arlington and Silvana firefighters assisted with the response.
