LYNNWOOD — The intention was good anyway.
The Lynnwood Police Department went into lockdown Thursday afternoon when someone doing some doing some house cleaning brought in a box of unknown ammunition and what appeared to be two World War II-style hand grenades.
In what police described “an abundance of caution,” a bomb squad was called to the Lynnwood Civic Justice Center, 19321 44th Ave W, to dispose of the devices.
The building was reopened around 1:30 p.m.
Police want people to know that if they discover possible live ordnance to leave it where it is and call 911.
