Volleyball tourney: Volley For Nepal is set for 11 a.m.-5 p.m. May 30 at Wilcox Park, 5215 196th St. SW, Lynnwood. The volleyball tournament is organized by the Vietnamese Eucharistic Youth Movement of Everett to benefit the victims of the Nepal earthquake. Tanzania send-off: Enjoy African food and see a slideshow about the Zinga Project at a special celebration and send-off, 6 p.m. May 30 at Unity Church in Lynnwood, 16727 Alderwood Mall Parkway. Eleven members embark on the church’s first global outreach project to help the Zinga Project build a children’s hospital, birthing center and orphanage in Tanzania. Hugging saint: Mata Amritanandamayi, known by her nickname of “the hugging saint,” visits May 30-June 1 at Xfinity Arena, 2000 Hewitt Ave., Everett. Free. Holocaust talk: First Presbyterian Church of Everett invites the public to hear Henry Friedman, of the Washington State Holocaust Education Center, who will share his experience of surviving the Holocaust as part of the church’s series “Fierce Landscapes and the Indifference of God: Testimonies from the Void.” Friedman will speak 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. May 31. Living Interfaith: The next service is at 10:30 a.m. May 23 and focuses on “Honoring Saga Dawa,” a holiday that marks the birth, death and enlightenment of the Lord Buddha. Cathy Merchant leads.
