Everett insurance company to retire worn U.S. flags

For the seventh year, independent insurance agency McClain Insurance Services will give local residents the opportunity to retire worn American flags in exchange for new ones just in time for Flag Day. The flag exchange is from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. this week through Friday at 10410 19th Ave. SE in the Silver Lake neighborhood of Everett, just south of Costco.

Conservation manager completes AgForestry course

Snohomish Conservation District program manager Cindy Dittbrenner has successfully completed an 18-month AgForestry Leadership Program and was honored at a graduation ceremony in Spokane Valley on May 9. The Lake Stevens woman studied local, state, national and international public affairs issues and how they interrelate; learned how to analyze issues in a decision-making process; and studied issues influencing Washington state’s natural resource industries and rural communities.

Goldfinch Brothers named ‘President’s Club’ winner

Goldfinch Brothers, Inc., was honored with a Marvin Makes a Difference award by Marvin Windows and Doors. Goldfinch Brothers was named a President’s Club winner. These are elite Marvin dealers who have met or exceeded sales goals and participated in development efforts to support their local customers, among other achievements.

Nominate a worker who saved a life

Every year, the Governor’s Industrial Safety and Health Advisory Board presents awards to real-life heroes or heroines who saved a life while on the job. The 2015 Governor’s Lifesaving Awards are presented to workers in Washington who saved a life in the past 12 months. The deadline for nominations is June 30. Schack Art Center to curate Lynnwood Convention Center

The Lynnwood Convention Center and the Schack Art Center have announced a new partnership. The Schack Art Center will be facilitating the public artwork curation at the Lynnwood Convention Center starting with an upcoming art installation this July. The Lynnwood Convention Center displays artwork from local artists throughout its building. The exhibitions are rotated twice a year.

Prime Pacific released from consent order

Prime Pacific has been released from the consent order that the bank has been operating under since August 2009, according to Glenn Deutsch, the bank’s president and CEO. Prime Pacific is a full service community bank and operates branches in Lynnwood, Kenmore and Mill Creek. It is merging with Coastal Community Bank in Everett.

Applicants sought for Edmonds economic development board

The Edmonds City Council is seeking applicants interested in serving on the City of Edmonds Citizens Economic Development Commission. Meetings of the commission are held on the third Wednesday evening of each month. There is currently one opening on the commission. Commissioner terms are staggered and the EDC may sunset on Dec. 31.
