Woman, 22, found shot in Everett

EVERETT ­— Police are investigating a shooting at about 1 a.m. Tuesday in which a 22-year-old woman was seriously injured.

Officers were dispatched to the intersection of California and Cedar streets in north Everett after somebody called 911 to report that a woman had been shot. Arriving officers found the victim with gunshot wounds. They also learned that two men believed to be involved were seen running from the scene.

The area was contained and a police dog was brought in to search. No suspects were found.

The woman was transported to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett, reportedly in serious condition. Initially, police believed the victim was 17. They later learned her true age.

Everett police were collecting evidence and attempting to interview potential witnesses.
