GOLD BAR — A two-alarm house fire broke out here Thursday afternoon.

Firefighters were dispatched to the blaze on the 15000 block of Moonlight Drive at 4:14 p.m.

Gold Bar Fire Chief Eric Andrews said suspicious activity was not suspected because the people inside the house called for help. They then left the burning house without being injured, he said.

The 18 firefighters from Gold Bar, Sultan, Monroe and Index had the blaze under control in about 30 minutes. Andrews said the fire apparently started on the kitchen stove and spread to the attic.

The fire marshal was on the scene to estimate the damage Thursday evening.
