Seattle Genetics expands in Bothell

Seattle Genetics has moved into two buildings in the Canyon Park Business Center in Bothell. The space previously housed Panasonic Avionics. With the new lease, the company will occupy close to 500,000 square feet in total. Seattle Genetics is a Bothell-based biotech firm focused on cancer with a product in the market to treat Hodgkin lymphoma. It has 600 employees.

Kalakala Co. Mercantile celebartes one-year anniversary

Kalakala Co. Mercantile is celebrating one year of business by inviting the public to attend an Anniversary Soiree from 6 to 10 p.m. Saturday at 138 Second St. in Langley on Whidbey Island. Snohomish STEM representatives attend conference at Microsoft

Last week, representatives from the Snohomish STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) Network, which included staff from Economic Alliance Snohomish County, Edmonds Community College, Maysville School District and Workforce Snohomish, were on-hand at the annual Washington STEM Summit held at Microsoft. Participants worked together in interactive sessions to tackle major challenges in STEM education.

Money set aside for clean energy

The Legislature has approved $40 million in the 2015-2017 capital budget for the Clean Energy Fund II to extend and enhance clean energy deployment. On Dec. 9, Energy Office Director Tony Usibelli and the Department of Commerce were present at a free public meeting in Mukilteo, hosted by CleanTech Alliance, to answer questions about the funding.
