Hours scaled back

The Arlington Police Department is temporarily reducing office hours. Instead of 9 a.m to 5 p.m., the office hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. until further notice.

The police department also no longer processes concealed pistol licenses for anyone who lives outside of city limits.

The changes were made due to a staffing shortage, according to an announcement from the city.

New Swift station near Edmonds CC: Community Transit plans to initiate service at a new Swift bus station at noon Wednesday. The new College Station, at Highway 99 and 204th Street SW in Lynnwood, is expected to be the final station on the rapid transit bus line between downtown Everett and Shoreline. A ribbon-cutting was planned earlier in the day.

Granite Falls open house: The city of Granite Falls has scheduled an open house this evening about a downtown street rebuild project. The plan is to reconstruct South Granite Avenue this spring from Stanley Street to Galena Street, including new sidewalks, water main and street lighting along with repaving.

Parts of Wabash Avenue and Pioneer Street also would be reworked as part of the project. The open house starts at 5:30 p.m. at 206 S. Granite Ave.
