See work by leading contemporary artist before show closes

Just two weeks remain to see Kehinde Wiley’s paintings, “A New Republic,” at the Seattle Art Museum. The exhibition, showcasing the poignant work of one of America’s leading contemporary artists, closes May 8.

Composed of about 60 works — including paintings, sculptures, videos and stained glass windows — the show provides an overview of Wiley’s prolific 14-year career, prominently featuring his signature figurative canvases of men and women of color in which he ingeniously reworks the grand portraiture traditions of Western culture.

The reviews have been great. Don’t delay.
