MARYSVILLE — A public forum on the city’s proposed Criminal Justice Sales Tax Increase is scheduled July 18 from 6 to 7 p.m at City Hall, 1049 State Ave.

The tax increase will be on the August 2 primary election ballot. It proposes increasing sales taxes in the city by one-tenth of one percent.

The anticipated revenues of $750,000 per year would be used to hire five additional police officers.

The Marysville ballot measure is running concurrently with a measure by Snohomish County for a two-tenths of one percent increase in the sales tax.
