Woman hospitalized after suspicious fire at Everett home

EVERETT — Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a home in north Everett Tuesday morning.

The fire was reported around 6 a.m. in the 1200 block of Poplar Street.

Flames were coming from the front door to the apartment when Everett firefighters arrived.

A woman, 50, was taken from the home to Providence Regional Medical Center Everett for treatment of smoke inhalation. It was not considered life-threatening, Snell said.

A police dog could not track down a suspect.

Investigators have identified a person they believe might have additional information about the incident, Snell said.
