Don’t miss our Everett Silvertips preview for Opening Night

Published 1:30 am Friday, September 23, 2016

Happy Opening Night from the Great White North.

Actually it’s raining and foggy here in Abbotsford, B.C. Not exactly the Great White North, but I’m still above the 49th parallel where the Everett Silvertips will open the 2016-17 WHL regular season against the Vancouver Giants tonight at 7:30 at Langley Events Centre.

We published our Tips season preview in today’s Herald. Our cover story featured Abbotsford native and star defenseman Noah Juulsen, who is currently away at Montreal Canadiens training camp.

We’ve got a season outlook and a look at some of the new rule changes. If you didn’t get enough preview action from Wednesday’s post, you can check out this piece from Ryan Kennedy over at The Hockey News and take a gander at this piece from the Vancouver Province’s Steve Ewen.

Looking specifically at tonight’s game in Langley, it will be a special evening for second-year Tips forward Spencer Gerth, while the Giants will honor former owner Gordie Howe with a pregame ceremony.

We’ll have full coverage from Langley tonight and Everett tomorrow so stay tuned.
