Open house set for Highway 9 bottleneck ideas in Lake Stevens

LAKE STEVENS — The Washington State Department of Transportation plans an open house event to discuss improvements to the intersection of Highways 9 and 204. The drop-in event is set for 6-8 p.m. Oct. 19 at Hillcrest Elementary School, 9315 Fourth St. SE. There will be no formal presentation. WSDOT staff will be there to discuss the project and answer questions.

The project schedule includes working with the public to develop ideas for improvements through early 2017, followed by designing the selected improvements between 2017 and 2018. Construction is scheduled to begin by 2019.

The $69.5 million project is funded by the 2015 Connecting Washington transportation package.
