Gender pay gap

Discrimination is key aspect

The letter, “Gender pay gap is nonsense,” omits key, if not the most important information. The writer has ignored the fact that the “gender pay gap” analysis is based on men and women who perform the same work, but are paid unequally, women being paid at 77 or 78 cents on the dollar less than men.

The writer uses the word “progressive” in the same breath as Marx, referring to Karl Marx who wrote the Communist Manifesto. The gender pay argument has nothing to do with equal pay for all, regardless of work performed. It has nothing do with communism, and furthermore, has all to do with discrimination based on sex.
