Police look for man who tried to abduct woman at Bothell bus stop

BOTHELL — Police are asking for the public’s help to identify a man who tried to abduct a woman Thursday from a bus stop at the corner of 102 Avenue and Main Street.

The woman reported that the suspect was waiting at the stop when she arrived around 2 p.m. The man approached her from behind, placed his arm around her neck and demanded that she leave with him. He reportedly threatened to hurt the woman if she didn’t comply, according to Bothell police.

The woman screamed and fought off the suspect. He ran off toward the Kaysner Park and Ride. The attempted abduction was witnessed by a nearby construction worker, who yelled at the suspect to let the woman go.

A passing driver stopped to help after noticing the victim lying on the sidewalk.

The suspect is described as a white man, 40- to 50-years-old, about 6-feet tall and 150 pounds. He wore his long, dark hair in a ponytail. He also had a short beard. He was wearing dark clothing, including a hooded sweatshirt and black baseball cap. The hat may have had the word “baseball” embroidered on it.
