EVERETT — A fleeing suspect in a stolen Subaru rammed an unmarked Everett police car on the 41st Street overpass late Tuesday morning.

The officer in the car was not seriously hurt.

Another officer, also in an unmarked car, had spotted the stolen Subaru in north Everett around 11:15 a.m., a police department spokesman said.

That officer was following the Subaru without lights and sirens. As they turned onto 41st Street, other patrol cars were converging on the area, and the Subaru took off. Another unmarked car up ahead on the overpass had pulled over and was struck and lost part of its bumper.

The Subaru was last seen southbound on I-5, and might have gotten onto westbound Highway 526. The driver, if identified, could face charges for assault.

The officers were told by their supervisor not to initiate a pursuit.
