Whittier Elementary School, in Everett, placed second in the book drive.
All three schools received trophies for their efforts.
In all, the friendly contest gathered 1,000 new stuffed toys and 65 pounds of new books to deliver to Christmas House.
Meanwhile, Elks members added to the cause as well. Lodge members donated ten folding tables’ worth of toys as well as a check for $850 for Christmas House. Most of the monetary donation was raised from a Barnyard Bingo fundraiser.
