ARLINGTON — A mobile home in rural Arlington caught fire Friday morning, displacing two people.

The home was located around the corner from the fire station in the 7800 block of 94th Avenue NE.

One person was home at the time and was able to get out safely, said Fire Chief Travis Hots with District 22 in Getchell.

A fire had been going in their wood stove Friday morning. Flames spread from that area of the house into the attic, Hots said.

Firefighters from Marysville and Arlington arrived around 10:30 a.m. Smoke could be seen coming from the roof and eaves.

In order for firefighters to get to the flames, they had to pull down all of insulation in the attic. There was charring, water and smoke damage, Hots said.

The American Red Cross of Snohomish County is helping the two homeowners find temporary housing.

An investigator with the Snohomish County Fire Marshal’s Office is looking into the cause of the fire.
