LYNNWOOD — Firefighters and police hope to begin their investigation this weekend into what caused the three-alarm fire at The Reserve senior apartments in Lynnwood.
They’re currently working to make sure the area is safe for investigators, Lynnwood Deputy Police Chief Jim Nelson said. Lynnwood police, the city fire marshal and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives are expected to lend a hand in the investigation.
The American Red Cross took in 21 people who were displaced from the fire Wednesday night. Executive Director Chuck Morrison said it is likely the Lynnwood shelter will remain open through Wednesday.
Anyone with information regarding the fire is asked to submit tips to the police department’s website or to detective Brian Jorgensen at 425-670-5632.
