LYNNWOOD — Police are warning neighbors about a convicted sex offender who has moved to Lynnwood. A public meeting also is planned.

Lawrence Martice Martin, 44, is a Level 3 offender, the level deemed most likely to re-offend. He is living in the 18000 block of 40th Avenue W. He is described as black with black hair and brown eyes. He is about 5-foot-9 and 158 pounds.

Martin has convictions for first-degree rape, unlawful imprisonment and promoting prostitution. The victim in the 1999 rape case was a woman he had offered to sex traffic.

Martin was released from Western State Hospital earlier this month and also spent a lengthy amount of time in prison.

According to a Lynnwood Police Department press release, he has a history of developing relationships with women “for the primary purpose of victimization.”

The meeting for neighbors is planned at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 15 at the Lynnwood Municipal Court, which is on the second floor of the police station.
