LYNNWOOD — The cause of the Jan. 25 fire at The Reserve senior apartment complex is still unknown, but investigators don’t believe it was criminal.
The construction site for The Reserve and another nearby apartment complex were destroyed.
The Lynnwood Police Department and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives National Response Team completed their investigation Thursday.
Investigators do not believe the fire was arson, according to a press release. However, they were not able to narrow down the exact cause.
The Snohomish County Public Utility District has returned power to the Tanglewood Apartment complex, Lynnwood spokeswoman Julie Moore said. More than 30 units at the Lynnview Apartment building are still uninhabitable because of damage.
As many as 150 people were displaced while firefighters put the flames out.
Scriber Lake Road is expected to remain closed, as the area is still not yet safe, Moore said. The city requests that people stay clear of the area until cleanup efforts are finished.
