Soup and bake sale
A soup luncheon and bake sale will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at Arlington United Church, 338 N McLeod Ave. The event coincides with the Arlington Eagle Festival. Proceeds benefit local charities supported by the Arlington United Church Women. More info: 360-435-6605.
Advise the mayor: The city of Lynnwood is seeking to fill seats on a new Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Commission to advise the mayor and the City Council on policy matters. Members must live within the city limits. They will serve three-year terms. A meeting schedule hasn’t been determined. Applications are available at the city’s website and are due by Feb. 20. Support school arts: An art walk and silent auction is planned from 5 to 7 p.m. Feb. 9 at View Ridge Elementary School in Everett. The free event features a live art project, an art-themed basket giveaway and treats. Proceeds will pay for art supplies for the volunteer-driven arts program.
Free day: Admission to the Hibulb Cultural Center is free the first Thursday of each month. In addition to exhibits on Tulalip history and culture, Thursday’s events include a Native Art Mart bazaar and a 6 p.m. poetry reading and open mic. The museum is at 6410 23rd Ave. NE, Tulalip.
