EDMONDS — Police say a security camera captured a man breaking into an Edmonds home and rummaging through drawers Wednesday afternoon.
The homeowner received a notification that her motion-sensor camera had been activated shortly before 3 p.m. She was not home at the time.
The suspect came in through the sliding glass back door, Edmonds police Sgt. Shane Hawley said. He was gone when officers arrived at the house. A police dog couldn’t track him down.
Officers don’t know if anything is missing from the home.
“Sometimes we don’t know for a few days,” Hawley said. “If they hit your jewelry box and you have a lot of jewelry, it’s hard to see what’s missing.”
The suspect is described as white and in his mid-to-late 30s. He has red-brown facial hair and a receding hair line. He was last seen wearing a red jacket and jeans with colorful back pockets.
Anyone who might have seen this man is asked to call 425-771-0200 or submit a tip online.
