Snohomish County Fire District 12 is seeking applicants for a fire commissioner. Applicants must live in the district, be at least 18, and be registered to vote.

Women’s heart health: A free luncheon, “A Focus on Women’s Heart Health,” is scheduled from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Feb. 24 at Providence Regional Medical Center Everett’s Colby Campus, Cascade Room, 1700 13th St. Learn the ins and outs of women’s heart health from physicians. Heart disease remains a leading cause of death among women. Many heart problems are preventable. Space is limited and registration required: washington.providence.org/NWHeartLove.

Volunteers sought for salary commission: The city of Lake Stevens is looking for volunteers to serve on the salary commission. The group reviews and sets salaries for elected officials. Five members are appointed by the mayor and confirmed by the City Council. To qualify as a commissioner, you must live in Lake Stevens, be a U.S. citizen and cannot be an employee of the city or an immediate family member of one.
