EVERETT — The Fratt-Wallgren House at 1725 Grand Ave. is being considered for the National Register of Historic Places.

The 1906 home is owned by Walt Gillette and Saundra Cope, who bought the house in 1998 and renovated and restored the place to its original Craftsman-esque style. It is already listed on the Everett Register of Historic Places and in 2003 won the William F. Brown Award from the Everett Historical Commission.

The house is named after Charles D. Fratt, an early Everett lumber and banking magnate who built the house, and Monrad Wallgren, a former Washington governor, U.S. senator and representative who lived there in the 1940s.

The state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation is expected to decide whether to recommend the house to the National Register on March 9.
