EDMONDS — Police are hoping for tips to identify a driver who fled a crash scene in Edmonds on Saturday.

A city worker was struck and pinned between two vehicles. He suffered a broken ankle.

It happened just after 3:30 p.m. The location was in the 7700 block of 196th Street SW. The worker was fixing a water valve in the street, Edmonds police Sgt. Shane Hawley said. He wore a safety vest and was using flashing lights.

The driver’s truck was captured on surveillance video from a nearby home. The truck is described as a white, smaller size model, likely a GMC or Chevrolet. It has no tailgate and the cargo box may be at an odd angle, Hawley said. The passenger side headlight also may be damaged.

A picture of the truck was made public Wednesday. Detectives are working on releasing the video.

Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives at 425-771-0212 or www.edmondswa.gov/police/anonymous-tip.html. Tips can be anonymous.
