EVERETT — Police were searching north Everett on Tuesday afternoon after an apparent hit-and-run crash that injured an officer.

It happened about 3:30 p.m. in the 2600 block of Broadway, Everett police Sgt. Maryjane Hacker said.

The officer was checking on a report of trespassing at a veterinary clinic. He saw a woman in a car who appeared to be using drugs. When the woman noticed the officer, she reversed her car and then allegedly drove forward, striking him, before taking off, Hacker said. She was last seen northbound on Lombard Avenue.

The officer was taken to a hospital. His injuries aren’t believed to be life-threatening.

The vehicle was described as a light-colored, possibly silver or gray, Pontiac, likely a sedan model from the early 2000s. No additional information was made public as the search continued.
