Suspect held for attempted murder in Lynnwood stabbing

LYNNWOOD — Police are investigating a stabbing that occurred early Friday at an adult family home where the suspect and victim shared a room.

The suspect, 36, is accused of stabbing the woman with what appeared to be a kitchen knife, according to court papers. She told police that she didn’t want to hurt anyone and had stopped taking her medication.

The victim, 52, who was treated at a local hospital, told police the suspect told her “I’m going to kill you. You got the exorcist in you.”

The suspect likely had mental health issues, Lynnwood Deputy Police Chief Jim Nelson said.

The suspect was arrested for investigation of attempted murder. No formal charges have been filed.
