EVERETT — A nearly six-hour-long SWAT standoff ended peacefully Wednesday evening on Hoyt Avenue near 41st Street. No injuries were reported.

Passersby alleged that a woman inside a home had stood at a window and waved a shotgun at them, Everett police officer Aaron Snell said. That happened around 2:45 p.m.

Nearby businesses, including an office of The Everett Clinic, were evacuated.

For hours, the woman refused to come outside, Snell said. Police were told she was suicidal.

She eventually exited the home and was detained around 8:30 p.m.
