Help for school backpack programs
A “Food for Thoughts” event will discuss ways to help schools, churches, food banks and others work together to feed students from low-income families through after-school and weekend programs.
The event is set for 9 a.m. to noon March 23 at Swan’s Trail Farm, 7301 Rivershore Road, Snohomish. For more information, call 425-261-3344.
Prayer Breakfast: The annual Good Friday Prayer Breakfast sponsored by the YMCA of Snohomish County is set for April 14 at the Edward D. Hansen Conference Center at Xfinity Arena.
The nondenominational event gives thanks and seeks guidance for the year.
It is not a fundraiser. Tickets are $40.
This year’s guest speaker is Bob Goff, author of “Love Does.” Reservation deadline is March 24 or upon sellout.

DUI emphasis: It’s St. Patrick’s Day and the Snohomish County DUI and Target Zero Task Force will be conducting emphasis patrols from 7 p.m. Friday to 3 a.m Saturday.
Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies and Lynnwood, Mountlake Terrace, Mill Creek, Everett and Arlington police will be looking for impaired drivers. Between 2011-2015, 252 people in the United States lost their lives in DUI crashes on St. Patrick’s Day.
